How are we different from other "marketing
consultants"?
What makes The CMI Way so successful?
Many people call themselves "marketing
consultants"--from telephone directory salespeople
to specialty advertising representatives to even
public relations firms. But, in truth, those people
represent only single aspects of the total marketing
umbrella. Marketing is much more complex,
encompassing a wide variety of facets that impact
the overall effectiveness and marketing landscape of
your company.
Realistically, no single person or even firm will be
proficient in every single aspect of marketing, but
at CMI, we've developed a solution most important to
your organization...a total solution based on
marketing basics. The solution includes
planning, positioning, implementation, and tracking.
Marketing, when done correctly, works for
everyone...particularly the CMI Way. We are,
in essence, your marketing department.
In their role as marketing advisors, Scott and Judy work with businesses and their staff to
help them understand what marketing is and how it
can be applied in the day-to-day running of a
business to impact the company's effectiveness,
image, identity, success, longevity, growth, and
ease and speed of growth. This involves everything
the business does externally, but also internally (a
big distinction between CMI and other
consultants).

Companies miss
hundreds of marketing opportunities every
single day! |
So, unlike others who really do not fit into the
"marketing consultant" role, the CMI
Way
is about
integrating marketing into the day-to-day function
of the business so that your company takes advantage
of every marketing opportunity it has (and it has
hundreds or thousands every day) to keep the company
on a continuum of growth and momentum.
It's not just about creating stuff. It's about
building the business--creating results by the way
you do business day in and day out. (Yes, sometimes
your business will be hit with hardships, sometimes
because of external factors you cannot control. If
you have implemented smart, continuous, integrated
marketing, you will greatly minimize the negative
impact of these events and your time of recovery.
Your marketing will be all the more necessary during
these times.)
The one component that most business owners think
they can stick on the back burner is marketing.
Costly mistake! And we usually hear about it after a
lot of damage has been done.
So, that's where the CMI Way comes in--the
method that is the basis for all of their
seminars, trainings, writings, and consulting. It's what
we they learned from working
firsthand and in the trenches of marketing in a wide
variety of situations for years.
And, it's what can
transform your business into a successful, growing
marketing machine.
Our experience has shown that after
processes have been developed and people have been
in their roles for about six months, habits develop.
These habits either help or hurt the marketing
aspect of the organization. And most often we
find, they hurt.
And so, when you decide to
utilize
our services, we operate along two important
concepts. The first is Shake it Up!.
This means collaboration of a plan and controlled
introduction of the plan into you organization.
This is done through communication with you along
with your staff. While "shaking it up" might
connote a big change, it is meant in the context
of adding results-oriented marketing techniques.
You'll find that the morale of your staff will
improve and your customer database will increase all
due to the improved communication. Unless
there is a shake-up, things tend to settle to the
bottom, if you know what we mean.
The second is consistency.
There is nothing more important to the process of
effective marketing than consistency. Once
'pro-marketing' processes are in place, it takes
consistent follow-up to see the results. It's
so important that we've named our business for it.
We've seen companies come and go who developed
excellent marketing plans only to fail because
management wasn't diligent in keeping the plans
going past the two month mark. When you
work with us, we make sure that the plans are in
place so that you can focus on the other important
areas of your business.
To apply the
Shake it Up! philosophy in your business means
to keep things moving. Keep your message out
there. Tell people about what you can do for them.
Ask what they need. Remind them of you again, and
again, and again, and again until they are so sick
of hearing about how much they need you and how good
you are that they have no other option but to try
and continue to use you (even if it's just to shut
you up!). Keep up the consistency
because only consistency sticks. Keep up the
consistency so that you're getting the mix of
clients you need because you've identified who they
are, where they are, and how to attract them. Keep
up the consistency so you have a steady stream of
inquiries and people calling you. Don't just take
whatever comes through the door because it might not
be good, or enough to sustain or thrill you.
Research tells us that the average person needs to
be exposed to a message 7-9 times to "get it." Many
things impact why a person does or does not pay
attention to a message sooner. Among them is the
fact that there are too many messages. By some
reports, people are exposed to over 400
solicitations to buy per day! Then there's the
question of whether or not they are interested or
have a need for what you're selling.
But, if there is a need or a want for what you're
selling, and you're talking to the right buyers
because you've accurately identified your target
market, then they will notice--eventually. You have
to be there when they need or want you, and the only
way to do that is to be there all the time.
Marketing requires patience. It's a process, not an
event. Consistent Marketing (CMI) will guide you
through those processes.
We'll teach you the principles and
how to apply them.
You just have to follow through.
